We contacted Rick Roxin after my son was in a motor vehicle accident. We were pretty sure that my son had a low BAC at the time of the accident, but he had drank a beer shortly before the accident. Being charged with a DWI is a serious offense that shouldn’t be taken lightly, and as a young professional straight out of college, I’m glad I had Richard Roxin representing me as my attorney. Being from Albany, NY and traveling to Rochester was laborious for my DWI case, but Rick made it more convenient and accessible for me and my family by contacting the court and working out the dates to best suit my schedule.

When my 20 year-old daughter was cited for a DWI we knew the stakes were high given her age and her BAC. Her BAC was too high to for the DA to plead to a lesser charge. Due to the seriousness of the charge, Rick recommended preparing for a trial. During the initial hearing in court the state patrolman gave testimony that did not match the documentation on the state’s case. Rick pointed out the discrepancy and the patrol admitted there was a mix up. Rick spotted his opening and contacted the DA to request a plea to traffic violation not a crime. The DA agreed. Everyone won—my daughter learned her lesson, the DA got a conviction, the court got its fees and Rick got to use his expertise to get a great result with some challenging facts. Best of all, my daughter will never have to check that dreaded box on a job application—“Have you ever been convicted of a crime?”

Rick was great with my daughter and me throughout the whole process. He was very thorough, but gentle when he was gathering information from us on the case. No rock went unturned. He was also very reassuring to my daughter that this is just a bad situation and she’s not a bad person.
